Dance Moms?

The view from the glass. Now that my kids are a bit older, I've started to depart from "mommy and me" classes to more send em' in and watch through the window classes.  This is a different phase of motherhood that I enjoy for many reasons - less chasing more stillness, more time to check my phone and sometimes I get to chat with other moms. When I don't have another kid to chase while one is taking a class (which is rare) then those 45 minutes can be golden. Unless you share those 45 minutes with people who don't realize how annoying they are.  While trying to watch Lucy prance, balance and attempt a cartwheel I overheard two moms compete back and forth over whose daughter is better, smarter, sweeter and of course taller.  As I had free time and couldn't really scoff (out loud) I had to record their conversation via my own notes.  Highlights include: 1.  "My cleaning lady"-   I know normal people have them too, but when you mention he...

The vacation I (and teachers and students) worked so hard for is quickly coming to a close.  This week has been equal parts fulfilling and trying .  After the whole family recovered from the stomach bug and the weather decided to catch up to normal it has been wonderful.  No more puke, brings on a lot less whining and my kids are beginning to act like themselves.  There was a point (Tuesday afternoon) that I thought, how will I do this all summer?  Literally, how could this possibly work?  Why have I heard "Mommy hold me" 10000000000000000000000 times before 10 am rolled around?  Why have I cleaned the same area 10000000000000000000000 times only to see it worse the next time?  Turns out half of that is just normal behavior (at least for my kids).  But also, we were all still sick, exhausted and cranky.  It was pouring rain and still cold and we were just getting our appetites back.  I was going to throw in the towel that day ...

Rock Bottom? or maybe that's just crumbs...

I think it finally happened.  I've hit rock bottom. I could see this day coming for some time, I just haven't wanted to admit it. THIS is truly devastating to me.   MY VACUUM DIED! I vacuum A LOT.  I sweep A LOT.   I live with TWO boys, one of which is a toddler, I have to.... My vacuum has realllly been hurting for some time.  I have tried to snuggle her, I have tried to be gentle with her, I have tried to clean her.... but the last few months just haven't been the same...  Yesterday was her final day of suctioning power. But why is this rock bottom you ask??? Because after she died,  I tried to sweep the carpet.   It was really hard, and really depressing. Also..... Option A: THE SHARK! Option B: THE DYSON You know what is even more depressing?   Researching Vacuum Cleaners. You know is the MOST depressing?   How excited I am to purchase my new vacuum and USE IT! ...
