Winter is Coming!

WINTER IS COMING!

......though it might not feel like it with the extra warm weather Central CT was having.

We've both been sort of dreading the winter months...  once that snow and bitter cold hits it's hard not to feel stuck in the house.

There is about to be no more running out of the house on a whim to a playground, no more outside play as soon as we get home from school... no more soccer on the weekends, AND now we'll need to bundle up, find the hat and HOPEFULLY matching gloves,  and re-enter the battle of the dreaded SNOW BOOTS...  ohhh snow boots...

As a result, this year we have decided to compile ourselves a list of Winter fun!

We encourage you to add to our list, and to join us on our adventures!
We also promise to update and link you to all of the fun that we have.

Be sure that you are following us on Facebook & Instagram for the LIVE updates of all our fun!.

Welcome to the #TeachMeHowToMommy 2017-2018
Winter Wonderland Wishlist.

1.  Take the kids Ice Skating.
            Newington or Bushnell Park

2.  SnowSlide 2018
(Please see SnowSlide 2017 here )
I think think year we will have Brian snow blow from the driveway INTO the front
yard to get maximum SNOW slide potential.

3.  Sledding at Walnut Hill
We will most definitely need to get a CREW together for this activity! Any takers to
join the Hayes and Mals kids!?

4.  KidCity
Specifically this would be FUN on a COLD, miserable winter day!  (and then head to
Stubborn Beauty afterwards for a Beer and some Whey Station grilled cheese
(because I KNOW they usually park their truck right outside of Stubborn Beauty)

5.  Snow Day Walk to the Park
The Hayes and Mals families both have little parks or ponds within walking distances
to our homes.  How fun would that be on a quiet Saturday morning, with no one
around, and we can have the whole place to ourselves!  Slides in the snow are the
BEST!  (see #2 for reference!)   Plus there is an awesome Sushi place on the Hayes
walk home! and grab Sushi on the way home!

6.  First Movie!
Coco comes out Nov 22, and Ferdinand comes out Dec 15.
(After watching both previews, Colin prefers Ferdinand!! But we will still
probably go to both!  Anyone want to join us???)

7.  Teach Me How to Mommy VIDEO
Actually, maybe we will set a goal of getting TWO done... one before new baby
Mals, and one post new baby Mals!  :)

8.  Basement Clean out (Hayes Family Only!)
Our basement is full of baby toys, old books, is cluttered and no fun to play in!
I think it's time for a Basement Clean out and Make over!  Winter days, here I come!

9.  Museums!!!
We did a lot of museums over the summer, but there were plenty we missed.  Let's be
honest,  there were some we avoided in hopes that when winter comes it would be a
great escape.  On our list this season:  the Peabody Museum in New Haven and
the New Britain Museum of American Art.

10.  YMCA or Bust!
The Mals do this every year, but this year we are doing it differently.  Instead of just
doing swim lessons I am going to get a family membership to the local YMCA.
Now that the kinds can (kind of) swim, we can go when we want and swim together.
Also, dare I dream, could I sneak a workout in with some extra playtime for them in
        another room?

So, did we miss anything?
We're just excited to have a plan of action to keep us out from under the covers the ENTIRE winter (re-watching Game of Thrones for the third time).

We'll keep you all posted on our adventures, as long as you make sure you invite us along on yours too!

XOXO, Amy & Colleen

p.s.  Maybe we'll sneak in a winter trip to the beach!  <3
